Radar404 ("the extension") is built to work entirely inside your browser.
What we collect
Nothing. Radar404 has no server, no account, no analytics, no telemetry and no third-party SDKs. It never sends your data anywhere.
How the extension works
- When you click Scan This Page, the extension reads the hyperlinks on the page you are viewing and performs HTTP checks (HEAD, and GET where needed) directly from your browser against those link URLs - exactly as your browser would when you click a link.
- Results are stored only on your device (IndexedDB + Chrome extension storage). Nothing is transmitted to the developer or any third party.
- Scan history and settings never leave the device. Clear all data in Settings removes everything permanently.
Permissions
- Site access (optional, requested once with an in-product explanation, revocable in Settings): required to contact the URLs your pages link to. No cookies are sent to third-party sites; the default is
credentials: omit. An opt-in setting may send cookies only for same-site links, equivalent to you clicking the link yourself. - activeTab / scripting: read links and draw the highlight overlay on the tab you choose to scan.
- storage / unlimitedStorage: save settings, history and scan results on your device.
- notifications / alarms: completion alerts for long scans and restart-resume reminders.
Changes
If this policy ever changes (e.g., an optional Pro tier is considered), the extension will require an in-product notice and the store listing will be updated before release. The product's standing constraint: no user data may ever be sent off-device.
